Tamriko Chechelashvili joined the firm as an Associate in 2019. Her major fields of specialization include finance, banking, state property and privatization, labor, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chechelashvili worked as a Head of Legal Department at the microfinance organization Lendo where she supervised the legal, anti-money laundering and compliance teams and advised the senior management on a wide range of regulatory matters and the IP law.
In 2013-2018, Tamriko held a position of a Senior Legal Counsel at TBC Bank and Bank Constanta where she worked on contracts, M&A, AML, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and labor issues.
In 2008-2013, Ms. Chechelashvili served as a Chief Legal Counsel at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and was instrumental in drafting the new Law on State Property which created the legal framework for the state property operation, privatization and management. During her office at the Ministry, Tamriko also worked on the state irrigation system project in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and advised on another large-scale project involving privatization of the major state-owned hospitals and healthcare infrastructure. Apart from advising the Government on legal aspects of the state privatization and management issues, Tamriko oversaw administrative disputes involving the Ministry.
Tamriko holds a Master’s degree (LL.M) from the American University Washington College of Law (Washington DC, the US), a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in Administrative Law from the Tbilisi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia) and a Bachelor’s Degree (LL.B) in Law from the Tbilisi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia).
Tamriko has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association since 2014. She passed the New York State Bar Exam in 2019 and will be admitted to practice law in the State of New York from January 2020.
