Tekla Khundadze

Tekla Khundadze is a senior associate at BGI Legal. She joined the firm in September 2020 as a paralegal, following her role as in-house counsel of a real estate development company based in Tbilisi. 

Prior to joining the firm, Tekla graduated with honors from the LL.B program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Additionally, in 2022-2023, she took time away for academic studies and completed an LL.M in Global Business Law and Regulation with distinction at Central European University (Austria). She is the recipient of the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for being the top-performing student in the program. 

Tekla specializes in mergers & acquisitions, secured transactions, real estate, competition, personal data protection and consumer protection, as well as general corporate and commercial law.

Some of her notable work engagements include:

  • Advised a prominent international beverage company on the acquisition of a majority stake in a key player of Georgia’s beer and soft drink sector;
  • Advised a large foreign investment firm on a complex loan settlement and security restructuring transaction; • Supported BGI team in advising prominent international betting companies on the acquisition of a Georgia-based iGaming software company and a major online casino and betting operator in Georgia;
  • Advised major multinational tech companies (including Apple, Google, Huawei, Meta, Tik-Tok and others) on various Georgian law issues;
  • Advised international law firms on a range of antitrust matters under Georgian competition law;
  • Conducted due diligence on Georgian companies operating across various sectors, including among others, food and beverages market, finance, banking, betting, IT;
  • Advised major international companies/organizations, such as news agencies, car manufacturers, pharmaceutical firms, NGOs, foreign embassies in Georgia, financial institutions, payment service providers, and others, on a range of corporate and compliance matters.

Besides her native Georgian, Tekla is fluent in English.
